    • Kids climbing the walls? Or the furniture? Here too, friends. Here, too. 🤯😱😬 ⠀ I know for most of us life looks dramatically different than it did before the pandemic. Our usual daily routines with the kids —which are built around school and work, extracurricular activities, play dates, and community events— have pretty much come to a standstill. ⠀ And while the thought of hunkering down with two young kids for weeks —possibly even months— is overwhelming, I'm choosing to embrace the opportunity to put some things aside for a bit and find joy in this time we have together. ⠀ One thing I found helpful at home this week was following a simple daily schedule comprised of a few different morning and afternoon activities. To do this I basically brain-dumped a bunch of activities onto a piece of paper and then separated the activities into blocks: Help, Move, Create, Learn, Cook, and Build. ⠀ To make our daily schedule, I glance at our sheet of activities, choose 1-2 from each block, and then divide them into morning and afternoon activities. ⠀ This approach is simple and flexible, but has added some much needed structure, variety, and sanity to our days at home. 😜⠀ ⠀ If you're needing the same, I just published a printable version to the blog. 🤗 To download a copy, tap the link in my profile☝or shoot me DM me and I'll get you the link. ⠀ I hope this helps your little fam as much as it has ours.     • Anyone else feeling like this is a lot of days in a row to have to make dinner? Oh and breakfast, lunch, and snacks. 🤪🤯😭⠀ ⠀ I did the math. For every week of #socialdistancing, I'm preparing, serving, and cleaning-up roughly 84 meals for our little family of four — 112 if you count morning and afternoon snacks for the littles. Some days I feel like I have nothing left to give come dinnertime. ⠀ ⠀ Those days, these oven-baked freezer chicken tenders are golden on every level. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, they are made with just six staple ingredients (chicken, Panko, mayo, egg, flour, & dijon mustard) and can go from freezer-to-table in 20 minutes flat.⠀ ⠀ The kids love to dunk them in ketchup and Ranch — but me? I bathe mine in buffalo sauce and roll 'em in a wrap. They might just be my favorite "kid food" to date.     • For many, the world feels uncertain and unstable at the moment. And while the vast majority of us will be just fine, if you've watched the news or stepped foot into a grocery store this week, I know it may not feel that way. One thing I’ve learned over the last several years is that simplifying can be a powerful coping mechanism. When life feels chaotic and overwhelming, simplifying can create a sense of orderliness and teach us to let go... Not just of stuff, but of worry, fear, and anxiety over things we cannot control. ⠀ With schools closed, events cancelled, and many employers implementing work-from-home policies, I know many of us are going to be spending a lot more time at home.     • I've been making this one-pot veggie quinoa chili for more than 7 years now. Before kids, it was one of my go-tos and most proud crowd-pleasers — but somehow it fell off my radar over the last few years. 🤱🙃⠀ ⠀ Then last week I got a craving for chili and decided to bring it back — even though I was convinced the hubs and I would have to eat the entire pot ourselves.
